Frances Poet is a Glasgow-based playwright with two decades of experience working in theatres across the UK as a dramaturg and Literary Manager.

Stage plays include Gut (Writers' Guild Best Play Award winner, UK Theatre Best Play Award nominated and Bruntwood Prize For Playwriting Shortlisted, Traverse Theatre & Tron Theatre 2018 and in a French translation as Madra, Théâtre La Licorne, Montréal 2019 and Théâtre Périscope, Quebec 2020) and the multi-award winning Adam (Scottish and UK tours 2017/18, NYU Skirball Centre 2019 and Gasworks Arts Park, Melbourne 2020).

Frances has also completed a number of classic adaptations including The Macbeths (Citizens Theatre), What Put The Blood (Abbey Theatre, Dublin 2017 and previously as Andromaque, Scottish Tour 2015), Dance of Death (Candice Edmonds in association with Citizens Theatre 2016) and The Misanthrope (Oran Mòr 2014)

Radio work includes Alt Delete (BBC Radio 3), Gut (BBC Radio 4) and The Disappointed (BBC Radio Scotland). Screen work includes episodes of River City and several short films that have played at National and International festivals.

Frances's play Crusaders was part of NT Connections 2020 and will be included in their 2021 programme. Frances’s stage play Maggie May (developed at Leeds Playhouse in a co-production with Leicester Curve and Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch) and her adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility for Pitlochry Festival Theatre were both postponed due to COVID-19.

Jemima is Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Stellar Quines. Prior to that, she served as Artistic Director at Dundee Rep.

Stellar Quines credits include: This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing (co-production with Imaginate); Bingo! (co-production with Grid Iron); The Lover (co-production with Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and Scottish Dance Theatre); The Last Queen of Scotland (in association with Dundee Rep and National Theatre of Scotland); The 306: Day (co-production with Perth Theatre and National Theatre of Scotland).

Dundee Rep Theatre credits include: All My Sons, Great Expectations, The Witches, The Glass Menagerie, Time and the Conways, The Tempest, Equus, The Elephant Man and Beauty and the Beast. As a freelance director and producer, Jemima has worked with Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, The National Theatre of Scotland, Perissology Theatre Productions, Borderline, Grid Iron, Traverse Theatre, Paines Plough and BBC Studios/River City. She recently directed Maggie May, also by Frances Poet, for Leeds Playhouse, Leicester Curve and Queens Theatre Hornchurch.
